Lethwei, Burmese Boxing, is known as one of the most brutal martial arts styles in the world. A bare-knuckle fighting style, illegal in most countries outside of Myanmar due to its violent ruleset, allowing kicks, knees, elbows, punches, and headbutts. One two-minute timeout per side is allowed per fighter to revive a knocked-out fighter. In rural areas of Myanmar, a skilled child fighter has been one of the main ways for a family to escape poverty.
